John Stamper from the Pittsburgh Science of Learning Center, gives us an in-depth look into leveraging cognitive theory and computational modeling to identify the conditions that cause robust student learning.

When used with learner centered design, Platform+ provides the opportunity to deliver instruction which targets students misconceptions and provides real-time feedback to instructors and course design teams. This webinar provide an overview of Platform+, discussing capabilities and limitations. This webinar also discusses the goals for the October workshop, who to send, and how to prepare

This webinar presents two of the authoring tools for Platform+. You will learn how to use Google Docs to create design documents which you can easily covert into XML documents for Platform+. You will also learn how to use OLI Author, an assessment authoring tool. OLI Author enables you to create practice activities with hints and feedback and link that practice to student centered learning outcomes. This webinar discusses the software required for the October workshop and assigns pre-work to complete in advance of the workshop.
